Opportunity Ready

Last week, I noticed that not every productive week looks “productive.”

There weren’t any big client wins or dramatic technology problems to solve.

Mostly, I was getting ready for WordCamp US – making decisions, finishing loose ends, and trying to be intentional about how I want to spend my time there.

It felt… ordinary.

But maybe good work isn’t always obvious while you’re doing it. Sometimes it’s the quiet preparation that makes the next chapter go much more smoothly.

I’m trying to get better at recognizing those weeks for what they are instead of dismissing them because fewer checkmarks went on the list.

Sometimes the work isn’t solving the problem.

Sometimes the work is making sure you’re ready for when the opportunity shows up.

It’s easy to think productivity means pushing harder….
